Goan Migration to North America
From the 1960s onward, Goans arrived in the United States and Canada directly from Goa and, for many families, via an earlier stop in East Africa or the UK. Today, Goan associations in cities like Toronto, New Jersey and the Bay Area keep the community's festivals, food and faith very much alive.
